The results of Karnataka SSLC Supplementary Examination 2014 will be announced in the second week of July. Over 1.6 lakh students had appeared for the examination conducted in the month of June. The valuation of answer papers is completed and data processing of marks is under way', said D Venkateshaiah the Director of Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB). In the annual SSLC examination held in April over 11 lakh students appeared for the exams. The percentage of pass stood at 86.23 which is all time record in the history of Karnataka SSLC examinations. SSLC Supplementary Results are Available here Out of 2 lakh students failed in the April exams nearly 3/4 of them did take supplementary exams, which means rest 25% students can be deemed as drop outs. Dropping out from continuing education is mainly due to the socio-economic factors which affects students, parents and guardians, Venkateshaiah told Oneindia. However, the Director refused to divulge the percentage break of Urban-Rural students who have opted to take supplementary exams. " All those who are willing and capable of continuing education have appeared for second attempt" the Director observed. Earlier the department of secondary education used to have two exams in a year, one in April and another in September. This system was revised and now the exams will be held in April- June which curtails loss of one valuable year for the students community. Karnataka has 14,000 high schools spread across 30 districts. Over a 4.600 schools are managed by the government, about 2,500 are aided schools and the rest managed by private. Apart from this, every district has one Morarji Desai High school and several schools managed by city corporations in the State. Hailed as one among few honest officers in the Department of Primary and Secondary Education, DV has taken several steps to improve the speed, efficiency of conducting exams and publishing results on time.
